What moves EUR/JPY
EUR/JPY is driven by the interest-rate gap between the ECB and the Bank of Japan, plus growth and inflation data from each economy. Rate hikes, hot CPI and strong jobs numbers usually strengthen a currency, while dovish surprises weaken it. Risk sentiment matters too — the yen and franc tend to gain in risk-off markets.
About EUR/JPY
EUR/JPY pairs the euro against the Japanese yen. Its direction is driven mainly by the interest-rate gap between the European Central Bank and the Bank of Japan, and by relative growth and inflation between the two economies. In sentiment terms, the Japanese yen tends to strengthen when markets turn risk-off, while the euro does better when risk appetite is strong.
